Getting to Know the Phoenix Area

When most people think about the state of Arizona, most of them initially think of the capital, Phoenix. While it is the largest city and the fifth most populous city in the United States, there are many other lovely cities tucked into this diverse region.

One of the major suburbs of Phoenix is Peoria. Peoria is the ninth largest city in the state in terms of population. There are plenty of fun things to do in the city of Peoria, as both the San Diego Padres and the Seattle Mariners share a sports complex where they partake in spring training. While there are two rivers that flow through the city, both the Agua Fria River and the New River are usually dry. If you feel like breaking free of the stifling feel of Peoria heating, there are several golf courses to choose from where you can breathe in the fresh, warm air.

If you are looking for a place to stay in the Phoenix area that lends itself to a “South Beach” type atmosphere, look no further than Scottsdale. Scottsdale is often regarded as an upscale tourist destination that boasts plenty of the finest department stores and high-end shopping. While Scottsdale is located in the middle of the desert rather than alongside the beach, there is definitely not a lack of night life. Scottsdale finds itself in an ideal location, nestled in between Phoenix, Tempe and Carefree. While the summers in Scottsdale are quite intense, the winters are rather mild. This means that your Scottsdale heating bill in the winter will still be quite low. If you are coming to Scottsdale to visit, you won’t have a problem finding a room as there are over 15,000 hotel rooms in the city.

Mesa is another interesting city that lies near the city of Phoenix. Mesa is separated from Phoenix by the city of Tempe. Mesa is the third largest city in Arizona, after Phoenix and Tucson. Mesa is an extraordinarily wide city. Since the distance from east to west is over 18 miles, people often refer to locations either being in East Mesa or West Mesa. It makes sense, then, that Center Street runs north to south and separates the two halves. Mesa is home to the Chicago Cubs spring training camp. If you are in town while the team is training it is an exciting event to attend. In the winter you can step out from the Mesa heating systems and visit the Mesa Amphitheater.

No matter where you are in the Phoenix area, there are plenty of cities to visit and tourist attractions to see. If you visit in the winter, the Mesa heating and Peoria heating systems will be at full thrust and Air Conditioning by Jay professionals will be busy at work repairing them. As the employees at AC by Jay can tell you, the locals think that anything below 70 degrees is cold! If you get tired of sitting indoors with all the Scottsdale heating overpowering you, take a walk outdoors and enjoy the desert air.
